ScoringSystem CEO Brunhilde Merker honored with award of 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal

Sarasota, Florida – February 17, 2005: Brunhilde Merker, Chief Executive Officer of ScoringSystem, Inc. was honored at a reception this evening as 2003 Businessperson of the Year for the State of Florida, and the recipient of the 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal in recognition of her many accomplishments and contributions to Florida's economic health, and for her entrepreneurial vision.

The 2004 Ronald Reagan Gold Medal was awarded to Mrs. Merker by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) after an exhaustive search of candidates throughout the country. Of all the many candidates, Mrs. Merker was the only woman in the country to receive this prestigious award. Even though managing the demands of a growing business, Mrs. Merker also serves her community as an Honorary Chairman to the Business Advisory Council of the NRCC.


Commenting on Mrs. Merker's selection in receiving the Ronald Reagan Gold Medal, Congressman Tom Reynolds, Chairman of the NRCC, said, “Mrs. Merker has served as an Honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council and has provided much needed support. This award could not have gone to a more deserving candidate.”

In attendance at the reception at ScoringSystem's headquarters in downtown Sarasota was Vice Mayor and City Commissioner, Mary Anne Servian, who addressed the crowd and gave formal congratulations to Mrs. Merker. Others attending included Mrs. Lou Ann Palmer of the City Commission, and several members of the Board of the County Commissioner: Mr. Paul Mercier, Vice Chairman; Mrs. Shannon Staub, Board Member; and Mr. David Mills, Board Member, accompanied by his wife, Betty. Invited guests who were unable to attend, but who sent their congratulations, included Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Representative Katherine Harris and Florida State Senator Lisa Carlton.
